‘A horrendous footballer’ -Everton fans blast Iwobi following his display in the loss to Man City

The Toffees faithfuls have had enough of the Nigerian international after yet another disappointing display from him

Everton fans want Alex Iwobi out of the club after the Super Eagles star delivered another unimpressive performance in the Toffees loss to Manchester City.

Iwobi joined Everton from Arsenal for 35m pounds in 2019, but he has failed to justify the fee with just three league goals and three assists in 65 appearances since he moved to Merseyside.

And it was more of the same at the Etihad stadium after he came on in the 17th minute for the injured Demarai Gray.

But he failed to have an impact on the game as Everton lost 3-0 in their Premier League clash against the Champions.

The 25-year-old had a pass accuracy of just 64% and failed to manage a single shot. His indecision when in a promising position was also another flaw in his game.

And it appears the Toffees fans have had enough as they took to Twitter to hit out at the Nigerian’s performance.

I hope Iwobi is aggressively saving sha.

Iwobi used his Jay Jay Okocha’s nephew tax very well to trick clubs into thinking he has some unique talent.

Iwobi needs to leave, never going to work here I’m afraid

— Benj Winstanley ➐ (@benjwinstanley) November 21, 2021

Get Iwobi off.

— The Everton End (@TheEvertonEnd) November 21, 2021

15 yards of space and Iwobi still manages to hit the defender with Richarlison one v one. #EFC

Whoever at Arsenal managed to convince Everton to part with £35M for Iwobi is an absolute genius

— Richard Buxton (@RichardBuxton_) November 21, 2021

Iwobi is quite possibly the worst footballer I’ve ever witnessed

— David McLaughlin (@SlasherMc83) November 21, 2021

I’d rather have brought that Aldi carrot on than Iwobi….

— Fran (@frannyporter) November 21, 2021

Iwobi plays football like a child excited to see a football.

Give him the ball and he runs excitedly with it but has no idea what to do with it at the end

— Mo-Mo💙 (@Morris_Monye) November 21, 2021

Alex Iwobi was £40mil and I’m meant to believe there’s no giant money laundering scheme in this riddled sport

— DT (@1884DT) November 21, 2021

“Evertons best moment of the game so far was when Alexander Iwobi was clean through on goal only to be tackled by Alexander Iwobi…..”

More to follow……

Iwobi stops when past walker

A minute later richarlison is through. Doesnt beat the first man to pass to him

A minute later they score.

God he is awful!

— Jordan Carroll (@Jordinho88) November 21, 2021

If Iwobi runs across Walker, Walker cannot catch him or he gets sent off for pulling Iwobi down.

No person on earth can explain to me how/why Iwobi is a professional footballer.

— Lea (@Lea_EFC) November 21, 2021

How did Emery convince Everton to buy Iwobi for that amount ?

— Femi Makanaki (@Gingerstiff) November 21, 2021

My brain can’t comprehend how bad Iwobi is

— The-Toffees (@thetoffees_com) November 21, 2021

Get Iwobi off and throw on Begovic instead

— FinKitch (@FinKitch) November 21, 2021

Spending £50m on Sigurdsson was a disaster but Iwobi for £30m might be worse. A horrendous footballer.

— The Everton End (@TheEvertonEnd) November 21, 2021

It is not the first time Everton fans will hit out at Iwobi for his poor performance. Nonetheless, the Nigerian will get another chance to turn things around when the Toffees take on Brentford next weekend.
