The Super Eagles star has failed to live up to expectation since he joined the Merseyside team from Arsenal for a reported 35m pounds
Alex Iwobi was again a passenger in Everton’s 1-0 loss to Tottenham on Monday night, and that has not gone down well with a section of Toffees fans.
Michael Keane’s own goal in the 24th minute was enough to seal three points for Jose Mourinho’s men. Iwobi was handed a start in the game but was taken off at half-time.
The Nigeria international joined Everton from Arsenal last summer, and it was believed the move would give him a chance to express himself more.
However, almost a year after signing, Iwobi’s performances with the Blues have failed to convince many Evertonians that he’s the real deal.
The 24-year-old has made 26 appearances in all competitions for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, registering just two goals and a single assist.

Although he has played in all Everton’s game since the league resumed, his performances have been average, and it appears Evertonians have had enough following Monday’s loss.
Many fans of the club took to social media to criticise Iwobi’s performance while some even suggested he should be sold.
Thinking about this over night and I’d pay whatever the club want for the player:
Allan- £40m
Hojbjerg- £35m
Rodriguez- £30m
Coutinho- Loan with option to buySell:
Sigurdsson
Davies
Delph
Walcott
IwobiThat’s an instant improvement to our midfield.
Thoughts blues?

My thoughts on last night…
The team looks organised and solid at the back
We’ve got real attacking threat in DCL and Richi
There’s just a gaping whole in the middle of the park, with complete lack of legs out ability to press and transition from defence to attack is poor— Chris addison (@Addo1878) July 7, 2020
His performance and that of Iwobi were woeful and not acceptable. https://t.co/WnShcQDOSY

After that performance yesterday if we don’t get rid of iwobi, sigurdson and Davies there is something wrong

Moise Kean and Alex Iwobi for the best part of £60m. Not looking like great investments by Brands.

Nonetheless, it’s unlikely that Everton will sell Iwobi this summer, but the Super Eagles star needs to start delivering good performances consistently, beginning with the home clash against Southampton.
