The North London side are looking to bolster their attacking options and have inquired about the services of one of their summer targets
Mundo Deportivo has linked Arsenal with interest in KRC Genk forward Paul Onuachu, with the Spanish outlet claiming that the Gunners have made contact with the player’s Belgian club.
The Londoners could lose either of Eddie Nketiah and Alexander Lacazette next summer, leaving them with a huge hole to fill up front.
A few options are available for the Gunners in the transfer market, with Fiorentina’s striking sensation Dusan Vlahovic reportedly among those on the club’s shopping list.
Onuachu has, however, emerged as another viable option for the Londoners after an impeccable record in front of goal over the past 18 months.
The Super Eagles striker scored an astonishing 35 goals for Genk last season to alert some of Europe’s biggest clubs of his abilities.
Arsenal were reportedly among those previously linked with a move for the former FC Midtjylland goal poacher.
Still, the Gunners eventually did not make a move as none of their forwards left the club before the close of the transfer window.
Onuachu failed to secure a dream move away from Belgium, but he has put that disappointment behind him and has notched 11 goals already this term.
Atletico Madrid are also reportedly keen on signing the Nigerian, but Arsenal could trump the Spanish champions as Onuachu has a soft spot for the Londoners.
