The Nigerian has been in scintillating form in pre-season this summer, but he won’t get the chance to add to his impressive goal haul on Friday
Victor Osimhen is set to miss Napoli’s pre-season clash against Wisla Krakow, but not because of an injury. The Nigerian has played all of Napoli’s three pre-season games over, but he’s likely to be rested for the clash against Krakow.
Napoli’s head coach Luciano Spalletti knows how important it is to have a fully fit and fresh Osimhen for the team’s Serie A campaign, which starts on August 21.
And because of that, he has decided to give the former Lille star a rest for Friday’s clash. Osimhen is expected to turn into a goalscoring monster under Spalletti, and he’s already showing a glimpse of what to expect when the new season kicks off.
The 22-year-old has seven goals in three pre-season games for the Neapolitans this summer. He scored four goals in the thrashing of Anaunia before scoring the lone goal against Pro Vercelli.
Osimhen then sent out a warning to the rest of Serie A with a brace in Napoli’s 3-1 win over Bayern Munich last Saturday.
The Super Eagles star will now be eagerly waiting for Napoli’s Serie A opener against Venezia on August 22.
