The forward is expected to leave Crotone this summer, but it could be to the Turkish top-flight

Super Eagles striker Simy Nwankwo has been linked with a move to Turkish giants Besiktas. The Crotone goal machine is being sought after as an option if a deal for Besiktas’ main target falls through.

Reports from Fanatik indicate that the 29-year-old is an option in case deals for Diego Costa or Luuk De Jong fail.

With the relegation of Crotone last season, it was expected that the Nigerian Striker would push for a move away from The Pythagoreans, especially after his heroics of last season, scoring 20 goals and assisting three in 38 league games.

Earlier on, Soccernet reported that Real Mallorca made a bid of €3.5m for the big forward, but it was rejected as Crotone are holding on for a better offer.

It now remains to be seen if Besiktas will make a bid that would thaw Crotone. For Simy, the prospects of playing Champions League football at the Turkish Champions would be a big incentive, but The Black Eagles would need to put a solid bid in other to land their target.
