“Sky is his limit” – Former international rates Super Eagles winger highly

There are quite a few young, gifted talents in the present crop of Nigerian internationals, and one is tipped to go even farther in the game than others

Former Nigerian international winger Tijani Babangida believes Super Eagles youngster Samuel Chukwueze has the talent to continue to excel for Villarreal and earn himself a move to one of Europe's biggest clubs.

Chukwueze has been on the radar of some of the continent's finest sides, including Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester United since he helped Nigeria win the 2015 FIFA u-17 World Cup in Chile.

His stock has kept rising since bursting into the first-team picture at Villarreal and playing a vital role as the Super Eagles reached the semifinals of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The 22-year-old did his reputation no harm last season, contributing one goal, five assists, and several eye-catching displays as Villarreal lifted the UEFA Europa League for the first time in the club's history.

Former Ajax ace Babangida is impressed by how far his younger compatriot has come, and he is convinced there is more to come from the youngster.

“I believe that Samuel Chukwueze is a very talented player and still very young,” he told TribalFootball.com.

“If you see the way he plays, you will see that the sky can only be his limit. I hope he remains very fit, without injuries, so that he can continue to do well at Villarreal or possibly move to a bigger club.”

Chukwueze is a favourite of Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr and, barring injuries, he should be one of the first names in the Nigerian squad to the Afcon in Cameroon next year.

Babangida is tipping the Villarreal winger to excel at Cameroon 2021 and secure a sensational move to the Premier League.

“The AFCON is coming up in Cameroon, and if he continues to perform well for club and country, I think Chukwueze is likely to move to a bigger club, and he has the quality to play in England.”

Chukwueze, earlier this year, became the youngest ever player to feature in 100 games in all competitions for Villarreal.
