What Simy said after Crotone’s relegation from the Serie A

The striker suffered the disappointment of relegation from the Italian top-flight for the second time four years after Crotone lost to Inter Milan on Saturday

Nigerian international Simy Nwankwo has finally broken his silence after Crotone’s relegation from the Italian Serie A on Saturday.

The Pythagoreans were officially relegated following their 2-0 loss to Inter Milan. It’s been a disappointing campaign for Serse Cosmi’s men, who have only managed just five wins all season.

However, Simy has been a shining light in their season, with the Nigerian currently the league’s joint-third highest goalscorer with 19 goals.

The former Gil Vicente striker has kept mum since his side’s relegation was confirmed, but he has now reacted to it.  Simy chose to be philosophical about the latest disappointment, saying it’s important to stay positive.

It makes a big difference in your life when you stay positive, he said in a post on his Instagram page.

Meanwhile, there are already question marks over his future at the club, with Genoa and Sampdoria among the clubs interested in keeping him in the Serie A.
