The Super Eagles striker was yet again on target on Thursday night, but his strike partner believes he could have had more
Jamie Vardy says Kelechi Iheanacho should’ve had more than a goal after the Nigerian striker scored his ninth league goal of the season in Leicester City’s 3-0 win over West Brom.
Iheanacho has been a man on fire this season and has only failed to score once in Leicester’s last nine games in all competitions.
His latest strike against the Baggies takes his tally in the league to nine goals- the most he has scored in a single season.
It’s been a remarkable turnaround for the 24-year-old, who struggled for form at Leicester in the past few seasons.
However, Vardy insists that Iheanacho quality has always been there to see, and it’s only clicking for him this season. But the 34-year-old, who also scored against the Baggies, says his strike partner could’ve had more on the night.
Speaking to the BBC after the match, Vardy said: “Nothing has changed with Kelechi Iheanacho, it’s just clicked for him. That’s what we see in training every day. He should have scored more today, but so should I!
Iheanacho will hope to continue his incredible scoring streak when Leicester host Crystal Palace on Monday.
