The Super Eagles striker sealed his legacy on Sunday afternoon after scoring a brace in Crotone’s 4-2 victory over Torino
Simy Nwankwo has cemented his status as Crotone’s greatest goalscorer after his two goals against Torino took him to the pole position in the club’s all-time highest goalscorer list.
The 28-year-old’s brace on Sunday takes his tally to 56 goals, which moves him above Andrea Defrolio in the club’s all-time highest goalscorer charts.
His first came from the penalty spot in the 27th minute before adding a second in the 54th minute. The former Gil Vicente forward has ten goals in the Italian top-flight this season.
Simy joined Crotone from Portimonense in 2016 and has been brilliant for the club since then. The Super Eagles star scored four goals in his first season before scoring another seven the following year.
Simy’s raised his level in his third season at the club, scoring 14 times and registering five assists in 33 league games.
However, last season was his best season yet with the club as he finished as the Serie B top scorer with 20 goals in 33 league games.
