The former Kortrijk forward has been outstanding all season for Lorient and he has been recognized for his excellent display at Monaco
In-form Nigerian striker Terem Moffi has been named in the Ligue 1 team of the week for matchday 25, which was put together by football statistics site, whoscored.
Moffi, who bagged the brace that secured a point for relegation-battling Lorient in their 2-2 draw at Monaco, was one of the two strikers picked.
Monaco’s forward Wissam Ben Yedder, who also netted a double in the same encounter, occupies the other striking role beside Moffi.
The first of Moffi’s goal – his seventh Ligue 1 strike since his summer switch – came from the penalty spot in the seventh minute.
Following Ben Yedder’s equaliser for the home side, also from the penalty spot, Moffi capitalised on a Djibril Sidibe blunder to restore the visitors’ lead.
Yet again, Yedder popped up one more time with a late equaliser to deny Moffi and Lorient a memorable victory.
But the Super Eagles hopeful would not be denied his time in the spotlight and has now been named as one of the best players in the French top-flight over the weekend.
Rated at 8.1 out of 10, Moffi played a joint game-high four shots, two of which ended up in the back of the net, made one key pass, and won two aerial duels.
With eight goals in 18 games, Moffi is enjoying a fantastic debut season despite Lorient’s struggles in the French championship.
