Several Nigerian footballers were on the goalscorer’s chart for their clubs across a few leagues in Europe.

Former Super Eagles defender Godfrey Oboabona found the back of the net to lift Dinamo Batumi to a 2-1 victory away to Torpedo Kutaisi at the Ramaz Shengelias Sakhelobis Stadioni on Saturday afternoon.

It was the 30-year-old centre-back’s second goal in ten games for the Georgian side.

Oboabona broke the deadlock after just 11 minutes before teammate Mate Tsintsadze doubled the visitors’ advantage from the penalty spot.
Adamadze reduced the deficit for the hosts during a thrilling first-half.

Dinamo Batumi, with the victory, rise to second on the league table with 35 points, two behind leaders Dinamo Tbilisi.

Elsewhere, Abdulrahman Taiwo’s 85th-minute leveler helped Zemplin Michalovce record a 1-1 draw at home to high-flying Zilina in game week 16 of the Slovakian Super Liga.

Jan Bernát’s 51st-minute opener had handed the dominant visitors a deserved lead.

Despite the shared points, Zemplin remain stuck in the relegation zone, having earned just 14 points from 16 matches.

Also in Slovakia, it was a mixed afternoon for two Nigerian stars as Sered lost 2-6 at home to Spartak Trnava.

Sered’s midfielder Bankole Adekuruoye scored the own goal that made it 2-0 to the visitors after just 10 minutes inside the Štadión FC ViOn.

Bamidele Isa Yusuf was on the winning side, though, with the teenager grabbing the fifth goal for the rampant Trnava – his second of the league campaign so far.

In Spain, Asisat Oshoala came off the bench to score the last goal in Barcelona’s incredible 9-0 thrashing of Santa Teresa at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.

The reigning African football queen was introduced into the encounter at the start of the second period for Mariona Caldentey, with the Spanish champions already 8-0 to the goods.

There is no stopping Lluís Cortés’ Ladies on the way to retaining the league title they won so convincingly last term.

Barcelona are joint leaders with arch-rivals Atletico Madrid on 21 points but have the advantage of having played three fewer games than their title rivals.
