Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala picked up from where she left before the season was curtailed as she scored twice in Barcelona’s 3-0 win over Montpellier on Sunday evening.
Oshoala scored 20 league goals for Barcelona Femeni, who ended up as champions after the season ended early due to COVID-19.
However, Barcelona are still in the UEFA Women Champions League, and they prepared for their quarter-final tie against Atletico Madrid with a friendly against French side, Montpellier.
Barcelona dominated proceedings, but the first half ended goalless due to their wastefulness in front of goal.
They started the second half on the front foot once again, and this time their dominance counted as they found the breakthrough through Oshoala in the 64th minute.
The former Liverpool star put Barcelona ahead with a cool finish following a perfect pass from Mariona. Four minutes from time, Oshoala then scored her second of the game which doubled Barca’s advantage.
