The long-drawn saga is not close to being resolved despite reports claiming the Nigerian is close to signing for Napoli

Newly crowned Premier League Champions Liverpool have reportedly entered the race to sign Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen.

The Lille striker is close to signing for Napoli, having undergone a medical at the club last weekend. However, Soccernet earlier reported that Osimhen’s new agent is stalling the deal as he is not convinced it’s the right move for him.

The Super Eagles star employed William D’Avila as his new representative, replacing his former agent that brokered the deal with Napoli.

And according to RAI Sport per Liverpool Echo, Liverpool’s Chief, Peter Moore has contacted D’Avila over the possibility of signing Osimhen.

It’s believed both Moore and D’Avila have a close relationship, and the French agent believes Liverpool is the ideal destination for his client.

However, Napoli still hold the ace as they’ve already agreed a deal with Lille and Osimhen has already passed his medicals at the club.
