The German top-flight returned to action last weekend, days after the Ligue 1 prematurely brought an end to the league campaign
Lille forward Victor Osimhen has revealed that he’s jealous of Bundesliga players who have gotten back to the pitch doing what they love doing best, despite global health concerns over the COVID-19.
Europe’s major leagues were halted several weeks ago after the coronavirus pandemic migrated to the continent from China.
But the Bundesliga made a heartwarming return – albeit without fans – on Saturday with Nigerian stars, including Taiwo Awoniyi, Jamilu Collins, Kingsley Ehizibue, and Anthony Ujah deeply involved.
Even the Premier League is preparing for a similar resumption of football activities. Still, there will be no such return for Osimhen and Ligue 1 players, with PSG already declared champions of France.
The Super Eagles striker admits the LFP took the best decision in ending the league season with the pandemic still ravaging, but he couldn’t hide his envy for Bundesliga stars.
In an Instagram conversation, the Lille number 7 stated: “I think the championship will resume in September or August, but I don’t know exactly.
“For the rest, the end of the season has been cancelled, everyone is at home, and it’s really crazy.
“I’m really jealous of the Bundesliga players who have taken over. But I think it was the best decision in France and staying safe.”
Osimhen scored 18 goals in all competitions for Lille in his maiden campaign in France.
