Nigeria international Joe Aribo will be one of Rangers’ key men when Steven Gerrard takes the Gers to the home of Celtic in a highly-anticipated Old firm derby on Sunday afternoon.
The potential title decider sees champions Celtic trade tackles with second placed Rangers with a win for the league leaders likely to crush any title hopes Aribo and co may still retain.
Super Eagles midfield powerhouse Aribo has seen an upturn in form in recent days since being pushed further upfield for the Light Blues. The 23-year-old has scored one goal and assisted another two in his last two appearances for Rangers, and he will be expected to be the creative spark against a Hoops side running rampant at the top.
Celtic extended their winning streak to an impressive 11 games since their 2-0 defeat to Livingston at the start of October and will host their city rivals in tremendous form.
Beating Celtic at the Celtic Park is a near-impossible task for any side in Scotland especially with the reigning champions not losing there yet this term, and just conceding four goals on home turf all season.
However, a motivated Rangers know this is the biggest chance they will get to slash the five-point gap between them and their city rivals. The Gers can take confidence in their form that surpasses that of Celtic, as the Govan outfit are currently on a 14-game unbeaten streak.
Aribo has only managed two league goals this term but, with the form he is in, the former Charlton Athletic man may be the Gers’ key to finally getting the better of Celtic in front of their notorious supporters.
