It is Christmas- and Odion Ighalo is already showing what the season is all about. The former Super Eagles star is in Lagos to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of his Orphanage foundation.
The 30-year-old launched the foundation in December 2017, with the mission to help children who are having a rough life.
Called the “Ighalo Orphanage Home”, the former Watford striker revealed he decided to create the program because he knows what’s like to have a humble beginning.
“Life was tough growing up in Ajegunle and I vowed that if I eventually had a breakthrough, I’ll give back to the society that made me, hence, the Ighalo Orphanage Foundation,” – Odion Jude Ighalo.
Whoever came up with the saying, “how does one understand kindness when all they have known is cruelty”, may have been on to something. Help us make this dream a reality!
The former Granada striker said this at the launching of the program two years ago. It has been a success as he celebrated the 2nd anniversary of the home on Sunday.
In a series of posts on his Twitter page, Ighalo thanked God for what they have been able to achieve so far within a short period.
