After an impressive performance that saw the team walloped Lesotho 4-2 in a 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, the Super Eagles have finally arrived Nigeria aboard Max Airline on Monday.
“The Eagles have landed in Abuja. Thank you all for the support. #SoarSuperEagles. #Team9jaStrong,” reads a Tweet on the Super Eagles’ Twitter handle.

The team landed this morning at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. Nigeria top Group L on six points after winning beating Benin 2-1 and Lesotho 4-2.
Goals from Iwobi and Villarreal striker Chukwueze before the break calmed any nerves and were pivotal in taking the wind out of a valiant Lesotho side who did their best to make a contest of the match.
Victor Osimhen who delivered a solid display for the Super Eagles saw his hard work and persistence pay off with two late goals (mins. 75 and 85) to put the contest beyond doubt and there was a consolation for the home side at the end as Awaziem poked the ball past Daniel Akpeyi in the Nigeria goal to give the scoreline a degree of respectability.
The three-time Africa Cup of Nations champions will next face Sierra Leone on August 31, 2020.
Super Eagles defeated the crocodiles of Lesotho far away in Lesotho, 4-2 and Nigerians are very happy but what I don’t hear or read any fan passing any comments.about is the jersey the lads were wearing,we can be so superstitious!
Well-done boys, your efforts are always greatly appreciated by real super Eagles Fans, keep the flag flying!
