Pressure eased on Marco Silva as Everton secured their first away win of the season in the Premier League with a 2-1 victory over Southampton at the St Mary’s Stadium.
Super Eagles star, Alex Iwobi played a vital role in the victory as Everton only scored the winner a minuted after he came on.
The Toffees took the lead in the opening five minutes through Tom Davies who headed home from a Mason Holgate flick-on.
However, they were pegged back in the second half as former Liverpool striker, Danny Ings drew Southampton level in the 50th minute.
With pressure mounting on him, Marco Silva made a double substitution which includes Iwobi coming on for Walcott. And it proved to pay off as Everton took the lead a minute later through Richarlison who volleyed in from a Sidibe cross.
It was Everton’s first point on the road since the opening day draw against Crystal Palace. The win eased the pressure on Marco Silva as his side moved to 12th on the table with 14 points.
