After highlighting the huge potential the youngster possesses in comparison to his recent disappointing displays, former Tottenham Hotspur star Alan Hutton has ripped into Super Eagles hopeful and Rangers forward, Sheyi Ojo.
The England youth international is on loan at the Ibrox from Anfield giants Liverpool having been identified has a future talent by Reds legend and Gers manager, Steven Gerrard.
The Nigerian eligible winger, whose club teammate Joe Aribo is already a full Nigerian international, has already contributed five goals and five assists to the Rangers cause across all competitions, having featured 23 times, but former Rangers defender, Alan Hutton is unimpressed about an attacker who arrived on the back of huge expectations.
“One that springs to mind is Ojo. He’s been very in and out, he came with big promise,” Hutton responded, when asked which of the Rangers players had been disappointing so far, Soccernet.ng reports.
“I still believe that he’s got all the ability. Obviously Gerrard hand-picked him, you know that he’s got something and I do believe he’s shown flashes of it.
“I think he needs to be more consistent, at teams like Rangers and Celtic you’re a bit under the microscope, you can’t just have the one or two good games, it needs to be seven or eight good games out of the ten. Maybe that’s where he’s finding a bit difficult.
“I’d like to see a little bit more, hopefully we can see more.”
Sheyi Ojo, who joined Liverpool as a 14-year-old, has previously had loan spells with Wigan Athletic, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Fulham and, most recently, Reims in France. The 21-year-old has made 13 competitive appearances for Liverpool’s first team, scoring one goal.
