Former Super Eagles midfielder has reacted to Nigeria's 4-2 win over Lesotho in Sunday's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Setsotho Stadium.
The former Africa Footballer of the Year winner told Soccernet.ng in a chat that the team displayed a high level of hunger and determination to achieve victory.
Emmanuel Amuneke, commended Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr for creating a winning mentality amongst the players, however, warned against been complacent.
“It's a good thing to see the Super Eagles show some level of determination that was known in the past. I am impressed with the overall performance of the team even though I believe there is still room for improvement,” Amuneke told Soccernet.ng
“Credit should also go to Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr for good work he has done with the team. Coming from behind to defeat Lesotho shows that the players are ready to hold their own against any team in Africa.
“I just urge the team to remain focus and maintain their winning form once they return to their various clubs in Europe.
