The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has reiterated that the Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr is focused on qualifying the team for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and has no intention of dumping the senior national team as speculated in the media.

According to reports, the German was set to dump the team after Nigeria’s 1-1 draw against five-time world champions, the Samba Boys of Brazil in an international friendly match on October 13 due to poor relationship with the football body and non-payment of his salaries.

However, a top source in the NFF who debunked such stories told Soccernet.ng that Rohr remains committed to the Super Eagles job and has a good relationship with them.

The source also revealed to Soccernet.ng that NFF is pleased with the progress made with the current crop of young players that presenting making Nigeria proud.

“We can’t react to speculations now and rumours. First, we have big games ahead of us in November and that’s what we are focused on right now,” the source told Soccernet.ng.

“2021 AFCON is how many years from now…and we just finished AFCON few months again and we are already talking about two years from now. Gernot Rohr is building a very strong team, a team that we believe can do well in 2021 and more importantly do well at the World Cup.

“There is a lot of work ahead of us and there no need for us to dwell upon this issue when there are assignments ahead of us. Rohr is enjoying the work and the NFF are pleased with him, most especially with the progress of the team. All those speculations are just mere rumours.”

Please, please, please, NFF, stop “reiterating” or messing people up when you are not up and doing ! If you like Rohr ( like we do) and you like the good job he is doing, simply encourage him and give him confidence to take the Super Eagles to the promised land by paying him his entitlements like other responssible National Assiciations.

Now, NFF, please tell me, how would you feel doing a good job and not getting paid ? You will be happy…abi ?

We can see Rohr’s enthusiasm. Oga, please, we are sick and tired of hearing you “reiterating and reiterating everyday – Simply pay “the poor man” his salary so he will be happy to put his heart on the job….biko !!!

When are we going to put this issue of non payment of salaries to permanent rest?. Each time we start gathering momentum and striking a good form this issue of non payment of salary will crop up.
