Ex international, Waid Akanni says the Super Eagles will benefit immensely in the October 13 international friendly clash against the Samba Boys of Brazil but adviced Rohr to ensure he invites the best available players for the clash.

Recall that on Tuesday, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed that Nigeria will clash with their Brazilian counterpart in an international friendly next month in Singapore.

The former Super Eagles defender told Soccernet.ng that Nigeria’s game against Brazil would toughen the players ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Benin.

He charged Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr to invite the best players for the game against Samba Boys in a bid to create more cohesion and understanding amongst the players.

“The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have done well by sealing the Brazil friendly on October 13. I want to believe this friendly will go a long way in helping the players ahead of the big game against Benin in 2021 AFCON qualifier.

“I feel so elated that Nigeria will be playing Brazil again and I hope the Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr will invite some of the best players to prosecute the game against Brazil.

“To be frank, we need more of this grade ‘A’ friendly game in order to toughen our players. Mind you, Brazil will be parading the likes of Neymar, Gabriel Jesus, Coutinho and co against Nigeria and you can expect nothing but an exciting encounter.”
