The Portugal forward has added another feather to his immaculate cap following his goalscoring outing in the Selecao’s 5-1 victory over Lithuania, just days after he also struck in Portugal’s 4-2 humbling of Serbia.

Cristiano Ronaldo recorded his 54th career hat-trick before adding a fourth as Portugal coasted to a 5-1 victory in Lithuania. By scoring against Lithuania, Ronaldo netted against his 40th different nation.

Juventus striker is now the undisputed goal king in Europe after his four goal haul in Portugal’s 5-1 away win at Lithuania confirmed him as Europe’s all-time top international scorer.

With 25 goals scored, he has also become the all-time leading goalscorer in European Championship qualifiers.

Robbie Keane posted this picture on his Instagram earlier today as he held the record for most goals in European qualifiers.

The debate on who is the greatest of all time will continue to rage on but on the international scene, Ronaldo now has no equal. Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 89 goals in 159 appearances for Portugal to totally outclass Lionel Messi who is still stuck on 68 goals in 136 games for Argentina.

Cristiano Ronaldo has now scored his eighth international hat-trick for Portugal, meaning he has now scored exactly a third of the hat-tricks in the country’s history (8/24).
