Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray have joined fellow Super Lig side Trabzonspor in the race to sign Super Eagles forward Ahmed Musa, according to a report on Fanatik.
Trabzonspor were believed to be leading the race to acquire the services of the former Leicester City attacker until the most successful Turkish football club showed interest.
Musa left Europe last season when he moved from Leicester City to join Al Nassr in the Saudi Arabian league.
In his debut season, the speed merchant banged in seven goals and provided another seven assists in 24 appearances.
“Ahmed Musa is a primary target for both Trabzonspor and Galatasaray but with separate terms,” disclosed the report on Fanatik.
Galatasaray are reportedly looking to sign the Nigeria vice-captain on a permanent basis as a replacement for Senegalese forward Mbaye Niang, who is set to leave the club this summer.
Trabzonspor, on the other hand, are proposing a loan deal for the 26-year-old.
It would be recalled that Nigeria captain John Mikel Obi only recently joined Trabzonspor on a two-year deal with the option of an additional 12 months.
Ahmed Musa has been capped 85 times by Nigeria, scoring 15 times. He is presently at the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt where has helped the Super Eagles to the semifinal stage.
