Real Madrid injury woes increased after it was confirmed that Thibaut Courtois has picked up an ankle injury that will keep him out of action for at least two weeks.
According to reports, the former Chelsea goalkeeper picked up the injury after Los Blancos embarrassing 7-3 loss to city rivals Atletico Madrid, which saw Courtois ship in five goals.
The 27-year-old is now likely to miss Madrid’s opening clash of the season against Celta Vigo with the injury set to keep him out for a minimum two weeks.

Courtois’ injury is another blow to Madrid’s preparations for the new season. The Los Blancos are already without new signing Ferland Mendy who has been ruled out for two months due to a thigh injury, while Marco Asensio has been ruled out for the whole season after rupturing his ACL in the team’s preseason friendly against Arsenal.
The All Whites could also be without Luka Jovic for the season opener after he was taken off in the team’s loss to Atletico Madrid.
