Despite some fans criticisms that the club hardly spend big during the transfer window, there seems to be an element of chance Gunners could shut critics up as they are set to sign Brazilian star, Everton Soares from Gremio.

Everton, who played an integral role in the Brazilian team that won the just concluded Copa America, has been on the radar of many clubs in Europe.

Rumours intensified about Everton’s potential move to Arsenal after it was claimed the gunners sent club doctors out to Brazil this week to conduct a medical for the 23-year-old, while the player’s wife also confirmed that he has started to learn English.

Last season he scored 15 goals in 31 matches and provided three assists, an output that earned him international honours.

He continued that form at the Copa America, scoring goals in group stage victories over Bolivia and Peru before the netting in the final against the Peruvians at the Maracana stadium.

The winger would be just Arsenal’s second signing of the summer following the arrival of another young Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli last month.

Recall that last week, the London club completed the signing of Brazilian starlet, Gabriel Martinelli from Sao Paulo.

The deal which worth £6million, will see Martinelli don the Gunners colours during the preseasons fixture.

Before his move to London, the youngster netted 10 times in 34 games for Sao Paulo and has tailored his game to mirror that of Juventus and Portugal superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo.
