Nigeria’s Flying Eagles could not break a resilient South Africa defence as the team were held to a 0-0 draw in the second group A fixture in the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday.

Having won their opening fixture 2-0 against Burundi on Sunday, the Nigeria’s U-20 team needed a victory to book a place the semi final with a game to spare and also qualify for the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup slated for Poland.

The draw means the Flying Eagles top Group A on four points and will be hoping to defeat or draw hosts, Niger in their final group fixture on Friday.
