Super Eagles defender, Tyronne Ebuehi has said his Ligament Injury might be a blessing in disguise and he’s going to come out of it stronger than before.
Ebuehi suffered the injury during Benfica’s International Champions Cup, ICC defeat to Juventus on Saturday, his club confirmed this on Monday. The 22-year-old is expected to be out for between six to nine months.
The defender joined Benfica in May on a five-year deal and has made only two appearances for the Portuguese giants, coming from Dutch club ADO Den Haag where he made 78 appearances between 2014 and 2018.
This injury will also keep Ebuehi out of Nigeria’s quest to qualify for the 2019 AFCON which starts on the 7th of September 2018, after representing the country at the just concluded FIFA World Cup.
Reacting to the injury, he took to Instagram to thank his supporters and promised to come back even stronger than before.
“After every disappointment, there will be a blessing,” he said.
“It’s still hard to realise what happened a few days ago and to not be able to play the game for a long time, but I have to accept it and move on.
“God always has a plan and this will make me mentally and physically stronger. I want to thank everyone for all the messages and prayers! I really appreciate it.”
