Barcelona to meet Seri buyout clause

Andres Iniesta is edging closer to the Barcelona exit door with Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri due to arrive.

Radio Montecarlo reports Barca will meet Seri’s €40m buyout clause to bring him to Spain this week.

And Seri’s arrival is being viewed as a clear sign Iniesta is being squeezed out. The skipper is now inside the final year of his current deal and admitted yesterday to “considering my future”.

For their part, Barca’s board say Iniesta “has earned the right to decide”, but with Seri and Paulinho arriving it’s clear he won’t be a regular starter this season.

The midfielder admitted earlier this year he would leave Barca if he felt he could no longer contribute.
