Barcelona’s hopes of landing Marco Verratti has been boosted after it emerged the player has told PSG he wants to leave.
New Barca boss Ernesto Valverde is a fan of the Italian midfielder, and has urged the Blaugrana to bid for him, even though they are expected to part with some nice sum as PSG will look to make the best of any sale.
Both the Spanish and Italian press claim that the Spanish giants have confirmed their interest, and that the 24-year-old has told his French employers he wants to leave.
Mundo Deportivo report that Barca have already called the Parisian club to confirm their interest in Verratti and start negotiations.
La Gazzetta Sportiva claim Verratti has already issued a goodbye message to the French club from holiday: ‘I want to leave Paris.’
Verratti has already spent five years at the Ligue 1 giants after joining from Pescara in 2012.
He has made 201 appearances in that time and has become a key part of their success.
