Former Super Eagles stars, Vincent Enyeama and Victor Ikpeba took to social media to celebrate AS Monaco for their remarkable triumph against Manchester City in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie played yesterday in France.

The Ligue 1 side went into the encounter with a 5-3 deficit but were able to draw level courtesy a 2-0 first half lead but the Citizens made life difficult for them with a Leroy Sane goal in the second half.

However, Monaco stole a place in the quarter-final when Bakayoko headed in a perfectly delivered freekick to make it 6-6 on aggregate 3-1 on the night and they qualified on the away goals rule.

Ikpeba, who played for Monaco in the past and name ‘Prince of Monaco’ during his time at the club, tweeted after the match: ‘I wish Monaco all the best in the quarter finals. The boys made me proud.’

Enyeama, who plays for rivals Lille OSC joined in on the celebrations with a tweet of his own: ‘Bravoo @AS_Monaco for the qualification, keep soaring.bon continuation Pour la suit.jusqu’e la finale.#ASMMCI’

Monaco now enters the quarter-final draw which will be done on Friday to determine their next opponent.
