Ex international, Dosu Joseph has charged Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheanacho to utilize the golden opportunity of playing his way into manager, Pep Guardiola’s heart by scoring goals in the absence of Gabriel Jesus.
The Nigerian international has been ignored by the Spanish tactician in four Premier League matches since the arrival of Gabriel Jesus from Palmeria during the winter transfer window despite scoring crucial goals that has always helped the team.
Having been confirmed to be out of football for three months due to injury, Iheanacho, who played a part in the City’s 0-0 draw against Huddersfield in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Sunday could be given the chance to prove his worth.
Atlanta Olympic gold medalist, Dosu Joseph, told Soccernet.com.ng that Iheanacho has another lifeline to seal his name in Guardiola’s heart or forget about Manchester City.
“You don’t need a soothsayer to tell you the handwriting on the wall as far as Pep Guardiola is concerned. Kelechi Iheanacho may have done well during the few period he don the City’s colours, however, his position has been threatened with the arrival of Gabriel Jesus, who infact has scored three goals in his two EPL games,” Dosu told Soccernet.com.ng
“This is a case where Iheanacho must start scoring goals in order to win Guardiola’s heart. The manager is ruthless and I am not really surprise with his action because be has done such while in Barca and Bayern Munich.
“Iheanacho must grab his chance since Gabriel Jesus is injured because he may not be given too much of time to convince the manager,” he said.
