Lucas Perez wants FC Barcelona move
Lucas Perez awaits Barcelona call
FC Barcelona are still in the hunt for a fourth forward to complete their summer transfer activity. The Club have been linked with a move for Lucas Perez and the agent of the Deportivo La Coruna striker have publicly stated that he and his client are waiting on a possible call from FC Barcelona.

Barça are desperately in search of a forward to strengthen their attack for the season and after missing out on Kevin Gameiro and Luciano Vietto, the club have started to put their priority elsewhere and Deportivo 27-year old goalscorer Lucas Perez is on the wish list alongside speculated names such as Luan Vieira, Mario Gomez and Gabriel Barbosa.

Barça are silent on negotiations as they have provided no certain hint on the striker they are targeting. However, the agent of Lucas Perez, Rodrigo Fernandez said it plainly that Perez has put his contract renewal with Deportivo on hold due to the fact that there is a possibility of FC Barcelona making a move to bring him to the Camp Nou.

Rodrigo and Lucas Perez know Barça are looking for a forward, and the player’s agent made it known that his client will not sign a contract extension until towards the end of a transfer window, so as not to hamper the player’s ties with the club if, perhaps, Barcelona or another interested club signs him.

“What if two days after signing the contract something arises and a team agrees to pay his release clause, say Barcelona? I think it would be bad image. So I understand that until the market closes, we should not renew,” Rodrigo Fernandez was quotes as saying by Mundo Deportivo.

It is safe to say the player will want a move to Barça. He has a release clause of €20 million, the exact amount Barça have left to spend for a transfer this summer (according to El Periodico). The only hint Barça dropped recently (maybe not a hint but a mistake) was a tweet stating that a goal was scored by “Lucas Suarez” instead of “Luis Suarez” and that rose eyebrows.

Barcelona technical secretary Robert Fernandez stated that the club is negotiating with a striker who will arrive before the start of the 2016/2017 La Liga season on August 20 and when asked if the striker will be a youngster or a veteran he replied saying “A striker is a striker,” Lucas Perez will be 28 in September.

Lucas Perez was one of La Liga’s top marksman for last season, netting 17 goals in 36 League appearance for Deportivo.
