Malaga sign Sandro Ramirez from Barça |
FC Barcelona striker Sandro Ramirez has signed for La Liga club Malaga CF on a free transfer, signing a contract that will see him stay at the club until June 2019.
Sandro Ramirez was promoted to the first team of FC Barcelona last summer after featuring for them from the B team in 2014/2015. He found it hard to get playing time at Camp Nou due to the fact that Messi, Suarez, Neymar and sometimes Munir are preferred to him by coach Luis Enrique.
Malaga have officially announced the signing of the 20-year old (who turns 21 on July 9) on a 3-year contract after Barça decided to let him go for free. The player had numerous offers from the English Premier League but decided to continue in Spain, a country where he’s been since birth.
A statement in the club’s official website reads: “The Canaries striker Sandro Ramirez Castillo from FC Barcelona is a new player of Málaga Football Club for the next three seasons.”
Sandro Ramirez joined FC Barcelona from Las Palmas in 2009 at just 14, he was promoted to FC Barcelona B in 2013 where he played until 2015 when he was promoted to the first team alongside Munir El Haddadi.
The Canary Islander featured in 32 games for FC Barcelona in two seasons, scoring 7 goals and winning 7 trophies which includes 2 Liga titles, 2 Copa del Rey, 1 UEFA Champions League, 1 European Super Cup and 1 FIFA Club World Cup.
