Nigeria defeat South Africa to grab FIFA U-17 Women World Cup ticket

The Nigerian national women U-17 team, Flamingoes, have qualified for the 5th FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. They defeated hosts Bantwana of South Africa 1-0 at the Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa on Saturday to pull an aggregate of 7goals to nil following their first leg 6-0 victory in Abuja.Skipper Rasheedat Ajibade who netted four in the first leg in Abuja delivered the second leg winner to tighten Nigeria’s grip on the women junior World Cup ticket.Ajibade’s goal became her eighth in four qualifying matches, having netted three in both legs of the 9-0 whiplash of Namibia.The 5th FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup will takeplace in Jordan between 30thSeptember and 21st October this year.Nigeria has never failed to qualify for the finals since the competition was launched in 2008.[post_ad]
