Amunike To Quit Eaglets Job

SoccerNet Nigeria
Golden Eaglets head coach, Emmanuel Amunike has hinted that he wants to leave the national team.

Speaking in a recent radio programme, the former super eagles player turned coach said that he is no longer interested in training the U17 players – a squad which he led to win the just concluded FIFA world in Chile.

The coach chorused that he would love to take up other challenges in his career, he however feels he has done his bit for the Team.

“I have been in this category for years and to be honest I am not interested in continuing with the under-17s, we have to be honest with ourselves, one has to move forward and I am looking forward to the next challenge.

“We will see what the future brings,”he told Nigeria Info FM.

Amunike was the assistant coach to Manu Garba who led Nigeria to win the U-17 FIFA world cup in Dubai in 2013. He later on took over from Manu Garba.
