Chelsea Technical Director Mike Emenalo has reacted to suggestions that the English Premier League champions are not doing the right thing after they loaned out 30 players on their books to other clubs.
Three players of Nigerian descent – Victor Moses, Kenneth Omeruo and Dominic Solanke – have been farmed out on loan to West Ham, Kasimpasa and Vitesse Arnhem respectively as the trio were not guaranteed game time in the 2015 – 16 campaign by Jose Mourinho.
“We have the difficult job, one we happily accept because we are a big club, of trying to balance being successful with making sure we have the right players at the right time, ” Emenalo said to Chelsea TV.
“Sometimes we know there are players whose development is not finished, just like Victor (Moses), who we want to keep with our squad but who maybe needs to play more football to get to the level we think he can get to, because he is very, very talented.”
Super Eagles winger Victor Moses previously had loan spells with Liverpool and Stoke City before his season – long loan move to The Hammers.
