Barcelona 4-1 Levante,Things We Learnt

Last night’s win for Barcelona made us the only team in the Spanish La Liga to have gotten maximum points from of all its four games so far, and we maintained our perfect record with a much easier and comfortable 4-1 victory against Levante on Sunday at the Camp nou. Here are few takeaways from what we saw on Sunday:

1. Lionel Messi should leave spot kicks for others: I have few reasons why he should stop here: Statistically,he isn’t better than Neymar Jr. and Luis Suárez. Imagine? he’s 1-for-3 in five games this season, that should worry any Barca fan. He should just avoid it, even if its for the time being.

2. Sergi Roberto has done quite well at that right-back position, but Dani Alves is different:In the game of football, we do have the talented men and hard working men. Sergi Roberto to me is among the hard workers and to me has made up for his lack of spectacular skills with tremendous work ethic and will to do more, and with what have seen all that effort has turned him to a very important piece of Luis Enrique’s system this season. But the return of dani Alves has given us another dangerous offensive option. Like the second goal we had yesterday, if it was Roberto it wouldn’t have happened, that’s simply because he won’t try those kind of skillful moves.

3. Everybody upped their game, which is huge: Youngsters like Marc Bartra, Adriano, Sandro Ramírez and Munir El-Haddadi all got hardly any time at all, and that is always tricky. No player wants to seat on the bench, and when he gets an opportunity to play after a while, such a player might not be at his best in terms of confidence and some other things, which will likely have an impact in their performances. But with those four, the case was something else. In their own way, each one had an important contribution on Sunday, with Bartra standing out as the best of them. We all expect a lot from him, and he works hard every time he steps onto the pitch. Credit to Luis Enrique’s rotations that keep everyone hungry and waiting for a chance, and they make the best of it. And that makes this squad really special.
