Barcelona defender, Thomas Vermaelen, has been hit by injury once again, after just recovering from one a week ago.
The Catalans have issued a statement explaining the reasons for the centre-back’s unwanted injury, citing muscular problems in his right leg as the cause, which means he will miss the Champions League match against APOEL on Tuesday.
Vermaelen was left out of Enrique’s squad to travel to Cyprus due to the Injury. The Full Squad is as follows: Ter Stegen, Claudio Bravo, Masip, Montoya, Piqué, Rakitic, Sergio Busquets, Xavi, Pedro, Luis Suárez, Messi, Neymar, Rafinha, Mascherano, Bartra, Douglas, Jordi Alba, Sergi Roberto, Adriano, Dani Alves, Mathieu and Munir.
This latest setback will be a big blow for the 28 year-old Belgian, who is yet to make his debut for the club and only got the green light to play again on 25th September following his last injury, since when he has been working back towards full fitness.
