Barcelona full-back Dani Alves wants to stay with the La Liga giants despite the interest of several Premier League clubs inculding Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City, the Daily Starreports.
The Brazilian’s contract with Barcelona runs out at the end of the season but he has yet to negotiate a new deal, leading to suggestions that he could be allowed to leave the Nou Camp for free.
Despite not discussing a new deal, Alves agent Dinorah Santa Ana has said that her client would prefer to stay in Catalonia and not move to the Premier League as has previously been suggested.
“His future is uncertain. Right now, we’re not negotiating with anyone – not with Barca nor any other club,” she told Catalunya Radio.
“We would like to stay here, mainly because our children are here. No one has told us that they want him to go.”
Reports last week claimed that the 31-year-old had his heart set on a move to England, sparking the interest of several top Premier League teams however, Santa Ana has now said that Alves comments initially emerged a year ago and may no longer be accurate.
“A year ago he did say he liked the Premier League, but that interview was a long time ago,” she added.
