Super Eagles forward Tolu Arokodare has revealed what he hopes to achieve with Ajax Amsterdam this season.
Arokodare has enjoyed an impressive start to life at the Dutch club since joining on loan from English side Wolverhampton Wanderers during the summer transfer window.
The Super Eagles forward endured a difficult spell at Wolves, where he struggled to make an impact.

However, his fortunes have changed since moving to the Eredivisie. The 25-year-old scoring seven goals and making two assists across all competitions this season, with his most recent goal coming in Ajax's 1-1 draw with NEC in their most recent match.
Arokodare sets ambitious target with Ajax
Ajax have not won the Eredivisie title since the 2021-22 season, which remains their most recent major trophy. Their closest attempt to end that drought came in the 2024-25 campaign, when they finished second, just one point behind the champions.
This season, Ajax have already won three of their five games and sit five points behind Feyenoord after six matches.
Arokodare is confident that he can help the club end their trophy drought and has made it clear that their ambition is to win every competition they enter.
“We’re going to try to win everything that’s there to win, everything that we can win, every competition we’re playing in and participating in”, the Super Eagles forward told Footy-Africa.
“That’s the plan, that’s the aim, that’s the point of our season. We’re Ajax, so we always want to be the best, be number one. Every game we play and every competition we’re participating in, we’re trying to win it.”

Super Eagles star on Ajax fans’ support
Arokodare, who is also targeting a return to the Champions League with Ajax, has spoken about his impressive start at the club and revealed how the fans have helped him settle into his new environment.
The Nigerian striker has also drawn comparisons with Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku, given how quick he has made an impact at the club.
“It’s been pretty good. It’s been lovely, it’s been amazing. The Dutch people have been amazing so far. My teammates have been great. The club has been outstanding. I love it. I love the people. I love the style of football. I love the fans so much”, Arokodare added.
“They’re very, very supportive. They show me so much love on the pitch and outside the pitch, like in my messages, in my DMs and everything I see, and I appreciate the love. So it’s been amazing.”
