LIVE: Inside Super Eagles’ final session before Madagascar showdown

The Super Eagles are in their final training session ahead of Friday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar on Thursday, with Éric Chelle putting finishing touches to his plans for the Group L opener, Soccernet.ng reports.

Nigeria have spent the week preparing in Uyo after opening camp with players arriving from their respective clubs.

Chelle initially worked with 23 players in Tuesday’s first full training session, with goalkeeper Maduka Okoye the only invited player yet to join the group after receiving permission to attend to family and personal matters.

The Udinese goalkeeper has arrived camp, meaning Chelle has his full goalkeeping options available alongside Stanley Nwabali and Arthur Okonkwo before the final session.

Eric Chelle faces final selection decisions

With Victor Osimhen ruled out of the opening two qualifiers through injury, Chelle has several decisions to make before Nigeria take on the Barea.

Taiwo Awoniyi joined the squad as Osimhen's replacement, while Akor Adams, Tolu Arokodare and first-time invitee George Ilenikhena are also available in attack.

There is also competition in goal, where Nwabali, Okonkwo and Okoye are all options for the Super Eagles coach.

The final session could provide further clues about Chelle's preferred starting XI, although the coach is unlikely to reveal his full hand before Friday's encounter.
