Super Eagles transfers: Premier League side close in on Femi Azeez

Super Eagles forward Femi Azeez could soon be on his way to the English Premier League from Millwall in the coming days, Soccernet.ng reports.

Azeez has previously expressed his desire to play in the English top flight after Millwall missed out on promotion to the Premier League last season.

Millwall's promotion hopes ended after they lost to Hull City, who eventually secured promotion by beating Middlesbrough in the final after overcoming them in the semi finals.

Despite missing out on promotion, Azeez emerged as one of Millwall's standout performers as they finished third in the EFL Championship and narrowly missed out on automatic promotion on the final day of the season.

The 25-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough campaign, scoring 11 goals and providing seven assists in the league. His impressive performances earned him a place in the EFL Championship Team of the Season and attracted interest from several top clubs ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Hull City closing in on Super Eagles star

According to The Sun, newly promoted Premier League side Hull City are close to completing a move for Azeez ahead of the new Premier League season.

The Tigers secured promotion to the top flight for the first time since 2017, joining Coventry City, who won the Championship, and Ipswich Town, who finished second.

Their return to the Premier League has increased the need to strengthen the squad, and Azeez has emerged as one of their main targets.

Hull City are now ready to match Millwall's valuation of the Nigerian forward as they see him as an ideal addition to their squad. The Tigers have already missed out on several other attacking targets, which has increased their focus on Azeez.

They failed in their attempt to sign Leon Bailey from Aston Villa, while Mohamed Ali Cho's proposed move from French side Nice has also stalled and may no longer happen.

Those setbacks have led Hull City to intensify their pursuit of Azeez as they look to add more quality to their attack before the new season begins.

Millwall have already rejected an offer from Ipswich Town for Azeez as they are holding out for a fee in the region of £30 million this summer, while West Ham United and Aston Villa have also shown interest.

The Championship club are open to selling the Nigerian if their valuation is met and Hull City could complete the deal if they are willing to meet the asking price.

For Azeez, a move to Hull City would give him the opportunity to finally realize his ambition of playing in the Premier League after his impressive campaign with Millwall.

The major issue now is whether Hull City will meet Millwall's £30 million valuation as they scramble to complete their squad ahead of the 2026-27 Premier League season.

The Tigers will begin their campaign against Manchester United on August 22, leaving them with limited time to finalize their pursuit of the Super Eagles forward.
