Nigerian winger makes Colo-Colo request after Vozinha signing – “Give me seven days”

A young Nigerian amateur footballer, Richard Oluwamayowa, has made a bold plea to Chilean giants Colo Colo in a social media post that is currently trending, Soccernet.ng reports.

​Every World Cup brings a breakout star from the shadows. In the 2026 edition, it was Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha, who was playing for Portuguese Liga 2 club Chaves before the tournament.

​His brilliant displays — helping Cape Verde secure impressive draws against Spain, Portugal, and Argentina — propelled him to global prominence.

​Initially, he was linked with Inter Miami, but he ultimately caught the attention of Chilean powerhouses Colo Colo and decided to sign for them. Vozinha was officially unveiled by the club last week, and interestingly, Oluwamayowa replied to the post requesting for a seven-day trial at the club.

​What the Nigerian Winger Told Colo Colo

​The Chilean giants shared a post on X to announce Vozinha's arrival, which Oluwamayowa quoted, writing:

​”Hello Colo Colo, I’m Olaogun, a winger who can also play as a striker from Nigeria.

​”I’m not asking for a contract. I’m asking for 7 days on trial to show you what I can do. If I’m not good enough, I’ll walk away with no hard feelings.

​He then proceeded to share video clips of himself in action on the pitch.

​The post has since gone viral, garnering over 500,000 views, 5,600 likes, and 156 comments.

​Oluwamayowa has received massive backing from Nigerian fans wishing him well, while many fans of the Chilean club have also chimed in to request more details and videos of the player. However as of the time of this report, it is unconfirmed whether the Chilean giants have accepted his request.

​Notably, this is not the first time the young Nigerian has taken this kind of step. Oluwamayowa, who appears to be in his late teens or early twenties, regularly quotes the social media posts of foreign clubs to pitch himself for trials in his pursuit of a professional break.
