The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has instructed Justin Madugu and all members of the Super Falcons' technical crew to step down with immediate effect, Soccernet.ng reports.
Nigeria is fresh off their worst outing at the Women's Africa Cup of Nations, having been knocked out of the competition in the quarterfinals for the first time ever. They were largely unconvincing throughout the tournament and ultimately suffered a 1-0 defeat to Cameroon in the last eight.
That result meant that, for the first time in history, the female team will be missing out on an automatic qualification ticket to the FIFA Women's World Cup.

Instead, they were condemned to the playoffs. They needed to overcome South Africa in the African playoffs before advancing to the inter-confederation playoffs. However, they fell short, losing 2-1 to Banyana Banyana.
The disappointing result means the Nigerian female team will not feature at the 2027 World Cup in Brazil.

The outcome of the WAFCON has been distressing, with many fans calling for the NFF president and board members to resign from their positions.
Last week, the NFF established a fact-finding committee to investigate the poor performances of national teams in recent years, and that committee was inaugurated earlier today.

This means that Madugu and his entire coaching staff must vacate their positions — effectively serving as a dismissal of the entire technical crew.
As of now, the NFF has not announced any plans regarding the future leadership of the Super Falcons.
