16-time Danish champions battle Lecce & West Ham for Super Eagles hopeful

16-time Danish champions FC Copenhagen have entered the race to sign Nigerian winger Daniel Job from Kongsvinger, Soccernet.ng reports.

Job joined Sarpsborg from Nigerian academy Future PA in 2024, but he had to leave on loan to Egersund last year. After his return, he could not secure a starting spot, so in February, he joined Kongsvinger on a free transfer.

Since joining the OBOS-Ligaen side, he has proven to be a revelation. This season, the 21-year-old has contributed seven goals and six assists in 18 appearances. He has been involved in a third of the club's goals in the league this season.

Job is a left winger who is very good with the ball at his feet. He is an adept dribbler, pacy, and direct. He can also strike the ball very well and has a good eye for a pass. To add to his appeal, he can play as a right winger or a striker.

His displays have attracted several clubs this summer, and it appears he might be on the move soon.

How Copenhagen Could Beat Lecce and West Ham to Job's Services

According to Transfer Feed, FC Copenhagen have placed a ₦2.7 billion (€1.7 million) bid for Daniel Job. This is almost twice his actual €1 million value on Transfermarkt, but it is unconfirmed whether Kongsvinger have accepted or not.

The former Danish champions are not the only ones with eyes on the 21-year-old winger. English Championship side West Ham and Serie A club Lecce have been credited with interest in Job, but neither has placed a bid yet.

Copenhagen are known for grooming young players before selling them to top European sides. It is a place where Job can continue his development while still having a good shot at winning silverware.

However, if Job moves to England or Italy, he might have to deal with the pressure of performing consistently.

With the transfer market open for only three more days, it remains to be seen who will eventually snap up Job. The young winger has never played for Nigeria at any level, but he will definitely be eyeing a spot in the coming years.
