Brighton prepare bid for Super Eagles star

Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion have stepped up their pursuit of Super Eagles forward Femi Azeez and are preparing another bid for the Nigerian before the summer transfer window closes, Soccernet.ng reports.

Azeez has been linked with a move away from Millwall this summer after an impressive 2025/26 campaign that attracted interest from several clubs.

The 25 year old enjoyed a superb season with the Championship side, scoring 11 goals and providing seven assists. His performances also earned him a place in the PFA Championship Team of the Season.

His form at club level also earned him his first Super Eagles call up, and he made an immediate impact on his international debut.

Azeez scored twice in Nigeria’s 2 0 victory over Zimbabwe before also playing a key role in the Super Eagles’ Unity Cup final win over Jamaica.

The winger began the new season with Millwall but suffered an injury during their opening day 2 0 victory over Bristol City and has been sidelined since.

According to The Athletic, Brighton are now considering a move for Azeez as they look to strengthen their squad before the transfer window closes.

The Seagulls have already tested Millwall’s resolve with an offer containing two bids, but their initial proposal was rejected.

Brighton have now returned with an improved offer worth more than £10 million as they look to get a deal over the line before the deadline.

The Premier League side are not the only club to have shown interest in Azeez, with Hull City also previously entering the race for the Nigerian winger.

However, Brighton appear to have stepped up their pursuit, with the club now waiting to see whether their latest proposal will be enough to convince Millwall to part ways with one of their key players.

With the transfer window approaching its final hours, Azeez’s future remains one to watch as Brighton push to secure his signature.

Should the move happen, he would become the second Nigerian to join the club this summer after 18-year-old Zadok Yohanna.
