Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel could be set for a sensational return to Fenerbahce just one year after leaving the Turkish giants for Birmingham City, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 28-year-old right-back joined the EFL Championship side on a free transfer last summer, hoping to reignite his career in England after spending four-and-a-half successful seasons in Istanbul.
However, reports from Turkey suggest Osayi-Samuel is now keen on a reunion with the Yellow Canaries as Fenerbahce continue preparations for the 2026/27 campaign under returning manager Ismail Kartal.
The Nigeria international remains highly regarded by the Fenerbahce faithful following his previous spell at the club, where he established himself as one of the most consistent full-backs in the Turkish Super Lig and became a fan favourite.

Transfer: Osayi-Samuel nearing Fenerbahce return
According to Turkish outlet Fotomaç, Osayi-Samuel has emerged as a surprise target for Fenerbahçe, with the player eager to return to the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium.
The report claims that the former Queens Park Rangers man has already held talks with Fenerbahce boss Ismail Kartal regarding a possible return to Istanbul.
Other reports in Turkiye further stated that Osayi-Samuel is “desperate” to leave Birmingham City and rejoin his former club, where he enjoyed some of the best years of his career.

However, while the player's desire to return is understood, Fenerbahce's hierarchy and coaching staff are yet to make a final decision over whether to proceed with the move.
The development represents a significant shift in Osayi-Samuel's future, especially after his proposed move to Besiktas reportedly collapsed at the final stages last season.
A return to Fenerbahce could also boost his standing with the Super Eagles ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, set to kick off in September.
Osayi-Samuel made 29 appearances for Birmingham City last season, but competition for places and the club's current ambitions could pave the way for an exit.
Having previously won the Turkish Cup and competed regularly in European competitions with Fenerbahce, the defender may see a return to Turkey as an opportunity to play at a higher level once again.

For now, the ball appears to be in Fenerbahce's court, but all indications suggest that Osayi-Samuel would welcome the chance to wear the famous yellow-and-navy shirt once more.
