The Super Eagles of Nigeria are set to take on the Biało-czerwoni of Poland in an international friendly this evening, Soccernet.ng reports.
Although this fixture would naturally serve as a World Cup preparation match, both nations failed to succeed their respective qualifying campaigns and will watch the tournament from the sidelines.
Nonetheless, both teams are playing for pride; a victory tonight would serve as a much-needed consolation for their respective fans.

Heading into this clash, the Super Eagles will be without key stars Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen. However, manager Eric Chelle has placed his trust in a core of senior players, including Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, and Alex Iwobi, to lead the charge.
Ahead of the encounter, Soccernet.ng highlights five Super Eagles players who could produce moments of magic against Poland this Wednesday.
1. Akor Adams

Since breaking into the Super Eagles setup in October 2025, Akor Adams has become a consistent presence. Having formed a lethal partnership with Victor Osimhen during the 2025 AFCON, Adams is now tasked with leading the line alongside Paul Onuachu.
The Sevilla star is quick, technically gifted, and dominant in the air. With five goals and two assists in 13 appearances, he will be hungry to add to his international tally tonight.
2. Paul Onuachu

Onuachu was one of the most prolific Nigerian strikers in Europe during the recently concluded campaign, contributing 26 goals and two assists in 36 appearances for Trabzonspor across all competitions.
A striker brimming with confidence, he brings a physical edge to the attack. Asides from his strength and hold-up play, he is also very good with his feet and excels at linking up with teammates. He has four goals in 32 caps for Nigeria.
3. Calvin Bassey

Bassey is arguably the most reliable defender in the current Super Eagles squad. The Fulham man uses his imposing frame to great effect, combining brute force with technical precision.
Asides from his aerial dominance and recovery pace, Bassey is a natural leader at the back and has a knack for popping up with vital goals, particularly during set-piece situations.
4. Raphael Onyedika

Onyedika is a player capable of dictating the flow of the game. Over the past year, he has established himself as an elite box-to-box midfielder, displaying composure and an eye for goal—most notably seen in his two-goal performance against Uganda at AFCON 2025.
His versatility and attacking threat pose a major challenge for the Polish defense.
5. Terem Moffi

Although it remains to be seen whether he will start, Terem Moffi is a constant threat. His familiarity with Polish defender Jakub Kiwior, his teammate at Porto, could provide him with a tactical advantage.
He is equally comfortable as a lone striker or in a supporting role. And as he enters this match, he will be in high spirits after his goal in the 3-0 victory over Jamaica during the Unity Cup last week.
