The Super Eagles of Nigeria are set to lock horns against the Warriors of Zimbabwe in the opening Unity Cup semi-final fixture tomorrow evening at the Valley Stadium in London, Soccernet.ng reports.
The other semi-final will be played between India and Jamaica tomorrow, with the final set to be played on the 30th of May.
Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle opted to include seven players from the Nigerian local league, while giving maiden call-ups to Femi Azeez, Arthur Okonkwo, and a rare invitation to Ovie Ejeheri.
The Franco-Malian believes the tournament is a place for the new talents to make a case for themselves regarding future tournaments, especially with the AFCON 2027 qualifiers on the horizon.

Nigeria vs Zimbabwe – Match Preview
Not a lot is at stake for both sides, except for pride. However, both nations have strong fan bases in the City of London, and the fans will want a spectacle, most especially after the domestic season for most top leagues have come to an end.
Eric Chelle, since taking over as Nigeria's coach in January 2025, hasn't lost a game in 90 minutes, and that record is on the line in the two games he'll oversee in London.
For Zimbabwe, they're looking to win at all costs. Their coach, Kaitano Tembo, is eyeing a win against Nigeria, alongside Moses Simon's club teammate, Marshall Munetsi.
“We have some big games coming up, the first one is against Nigeria which everyone is looking forward to,” the former Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder said.
“We know how much these matches mean to the fans, especially Zimbabweans here in the UK. We appreciate their support and we want to give them something to be proud of

Form and Head-to-Head
The Warriors have won two of their past five games across all competitions. The victories came against Qatar and, more recently, Botswana.
In the middle of both wins, Zimbabwe lost to Egypt and South Africa, while sealing a point against Angola.
The Super Eagles endured a seven-game unbeaten run at the AFCON 2025 tournament before defeating Iran and drawing against Jordan in the March International break.
Across six meetings between Zimbabwe and Nigeria, the Super Eagles have won three times, while the remaining fixtures have ended in stalemates.
Across the last two meetings between both sides in the World Cup qualifiers, the scoreline ended 1-1.

Predictions
With little at stake, expect a relaxed atmosphere and several experiments from both managers. On paper, Nigeria boasts superior individual quality, but Zimbabwe have been a tough nut to crack for the Super Eagles in recent years.
With names like Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman and Paul Onuachu out, and a team yet to gel set to feature, there might be a lack of cohesion on the pitch.
Final Score Prediction: Nigeria 2-2 Zimbabwe. Super Eagles win on penalties.
